ROBUSTA-3A: Already 1 year in orbit🎂

🎂 🚀 🛰️ Already 1 year in orbit for our #nanosatellite #ROBUSTA3A! This first 30cm by 10cm cobblestone for the Centre Spatial de l’Université de Montpellier (CSUM) and the #FVA, launched on the inaugural flight of Ariane6, has challenged our teams all year and we can only be proud to operate it every day from Montpellier!
We’re well on track for the launch of its main Mediterranean mission, and here are a few key points successfully achieved so far for ROBUSTA-3A :

  • First in-orbit acceptance with performance analysis of attitude control, UHF radio link, power management… ;
  • Stabilization and recovery of the satellite after an uncontrolled rotation at 140°/s;
  • Activation of the secondary payload and collection of scientific data for the IES – Institut d’Electronique et des Systèmes / LIRMM laboratories of the University of Montpellier;
  • Onboard computer software updated in orbit (to correct an anomaly detected on board);
  • Validation of the S-Band radio link from our ground segment.

A big bravo to our engineers who take turns night and day to operate this platform. Our thoughts are with the #FVA sponsors and partners who helped develop this nanosatellite platform: Airbus Defence and Space CLIX INDUSTRIES Latecoere Safran Saft Nimesis Defence & Space 3D PLUS MECANIQUE GENERALE LAURENT SYMETRIE. It’s your birthday too! Our thoughts also go to the European Space Agency – ESA ArianeGroup ARIANESPACE and CNES, for this wonderful opportunity and their confidence in us.

Relive this historic launch and celebrate the teams from #CSUM, #FVA and all the students who learned the space professions by participating in the development of #ROBUSTA3A with this beautiful video directed by Guillaume Poux and his team: https://youtu.be/tXbIPm1Voi8?si=gnDHOuEs-zmDWjAU

The rest of the ROBUSTA-3A Mediterranean adventures are coming soon!
