A look back at our space conference!
We brought together more than 200 students from the University of Montpellier and middle school students from the Montpellier Academy for the event “Space, Opportunities, and Environmental Challenges”! On stage, Célia Pelluet gave a humorous tribute to science and women in the space industry, followed by a round table discussion between experts from the French space sector: Xavier Albert-Lebrun and Cédric Biegel from Airbus Defence and Space, Latifa Benameur from Groundspace, Nicolas Dolin from Comat, and Muriel Bernard from the Montpellier University Space Center (CSUM). The event was moderated by Prof. Laurent Dusseau, director of #CSUM and #FVA, and introduced by our president and former minister Jean-Claude Gayssot alongside Philippe Combette. Thank you all!
This was a golden opportunity for Montpellier students to discover and meet our sponsors and partners: 3D PLUS, ActInSpace, Airbus Defence and Space, ACTIA Aerospace, Comat, CNES, Groundspace, and SYMETRIE.
This initiative was led by the #FVA as part of the COMETES project – Skills and Careers for Space.
Congratulations to the entire team that organized the event: Calypso Alcalde, Célia Fernandez Durand, Isabelle Lagracie, and Sophie Teullet, not to mention Caroline Reynaud and Océane TREVENNEC, as well as the #CSUM team for their operational support. This event would not have been possible without the help of the various academic managers at UM (Faculty of Science, IUT MONTPELLIER-SETE, Polytech Montpellier, etc.), as well as the events team from the logistics department and Julie de La Vaissiere from the communications department at UM.
